Anderson Germany Automotive Design Lamborghini Gallardo White Edition 2011


Anderson Germany Lamborghini Gallardo White Edition Performance kit takes the horsepower from 560 to 600 hp. This is done with series of modifications that include the use of software optimization and the addition of a modified air filter and a sport exhaust system with additional Rennkats. The tuning package includes a remote-controlled valve adjusting system that lets driver opt from three different levels of noise and also reduces approximately 22 kg in weight. A special sport suspension module combined with a precise undercarriage significantly changes the driving dynamics. Three-piece, shiny black rims – each with a white painted deep dish – in dimensions of 9×20 inch with 245/30-20 tires in front and 12.5 x 20 inch with 325/25-20 rear provide adequate adherence with the asphalt surface.

The seats of the White Racing Edition are finished in black Alcantara and black and white leather; the edges of seats are entirely in white; doors and seats have diamond-shaped stitching.

GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept Automotive Design 2011


The new Sierra HD underpins the All Terrain HD concept, with a modified, production-based 4WD chassis and the Duramax diesel/Allison 1000 six-speed powertrain. The enhanced suspension and unique body dimensions, including increased ground clearance and wider track, as well as greater approach/departure angles, deliver off-road capability while maintaining HD levels of payload and trailering capacity. The All Terrain HD is painted Iridium Metallic – a dark charcoal color that reveals a reddish, anodized inflection when viewed from certain angles.

Based on the chassis of the 2011 Sierra HD trucks, the All Terrain HD features a fully boxed steel frame with exceptional strength and torsional stiffness. It incorporates the production models’ new independent front suspension and asymmetrical rear leaf-spring suspensions, but with a wider 73-inch (1,853 mm) track (front and rear) that enhances stability during off-road and highway driving. A production Sierra 2500HD has front and rear tracks of 68.8 inches (1,748 mm) and 67.3 inches (1,709 mm), respectively.

The GMC Sierra All Terrain HD concept is propelled by the new, production 6.6L Duramax turbo-diesel V-8 and Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission powertrain combination offered in the 2011 Sierra HD trucks. The Duramax is rated at 397 horsepower (296 kW) and 765 lb.-ft. of torque (1,037 Nm).

The powerful 6.6L Duramax is more fuel-efficient – with up to 11-percent greater fuel economy than previous versions – and reduces NOx emissions by up to 63 percent. The powertrain’s efficiency is assisted by the Allison 1000 transmission, which requires less engine power to funnel torque to the axles. It also incorporates a “smart” exhaust brake feature that helps save wear on the brakes on downhill grades, a feature available on production Sierra HDs.

What do you get when you cross a conventional off-roader with an MPV? A Mitsubishi Delica D:5.

The new Mitsubishi Delica D:5 is a monobox type minivan that's unique as it combines the sturdiness of a Sport-Utility Vehicle (SUV) with the user-friendliness of a minivan.

Its massive interior has room for eight, and although the variant in Singapore comes with a mere two-wheel-drive (2WD) system, it is based on the same platform as the Outlander.

The fifth iteration of the series, D:5, inherits and builds on the strengths of the Delica brand philosophy: a vehicle that transports its occupants to their destination safely and comfortably under all driving conditions.

Hence, covering running performance, body structure and cabin environment, the Delica D:5 underwent a full redesign - just to strengthen that very philosophy.

Exterior
The bow-tied designers and engineers at Mitsubishi have certainly worked hard to come up with lines that are bold yet pleasant on the eyes for the exterior of this huge car. The dimensions are still those of a boxy van but the designers have managed to make it attractive, thanks to several eye-catching details on the front and rear ends.

Styling wise, the boxy-designed car carrying the 2.0-litre DOHC MIVEC engine is similar to the Hummer fascia when viewed from the front. The clean lines and smooth surfaces that combine well with chunky alloys and chromed front grill give the D:5 a very handsome look, setting it apart from the rest of its competitors.

It is also this powerfully crafted vertical bar grille that joins the headlamps together in a straight band to project a wide, purposeful look, allowing the big square-like headlamps to be a good match for the oversized body.

The rear end shares a similar treatment with the combination lamps and tailgate garnish running the full width of the rear in a single band in a frill-free and clean design. Similar to the front bumper, the rear one also came in metallic grey, which was a perfect match to the white pearl colour of the test car.

Of course, if this doesn't suit your taste, the D:5 also comes in a two-tone cosmic blue body with metallic grey bumpers or the warm white pearl body with the cool silver bumpers.

The Mitsubishi Delica D:5 presents a striking road-presence with a boxy body sitting on large wheels and tyres. And with the linear styling treatment, it produces an ageless exterior design that readily communicates its functional qualities.

Interior
The new D5 is a huge car and a sneak peak at any picture should convince you. But what completely did for me was stepping inside.

This car is designed to welcome eight occupants in excellent conditions of comfort. No doubt that other cars can also achieve what Mitsubishi has pulled off for the D:5, but the quality of the seats and overall space in this big papa is unrivalled.

The interior's functional space allows for larger baggage and other items. And although the third row seats don't fold as easily as those in the best MPVs, it doesn't take long for one to figure it out. A couple of steps of lifting and hooking the seats and the job is done, increasing the depth from 1200mm to 1610mm.

Inside, the futuristic silver centre console with three circular knobs that control the air-conditioner give the cabin bags of character. Neat and convenient touches such as the powered sliding side doors and electric tailgate can also be controlled from the dash and the key fob - something very similar to the Toyota Estima.
One of the relaxing features that is available for the rear passengers is the availability of the multimedia DVD entertainment system. A video screen with DVD player is located at the top of the second row bench and is easily accessible to all rear passengers.

Moreover, ceiling lights at the front makes the cabin a very soothing place to be. Not only will the occupants' minds be at ease with the comfortable and spacious interior, long trips will no longer be boring.

Mitsubishi has undoubtedly created a cabin that appears to cocoon the occupants and instil a reassuring sense of being safely protected.

The Drive
On the go, the D:5 is surprisingly surefooted and cushy. The 2.0-litre DOHC MIVEC engine, producing 150bhp of power and 197Nm of torque, provides good accelerations when and wherever you need it, from highways to sloping roads.

Due to the stature of the car, the ride is decidedly comfort-biased. It is almost like a grand tourer that dishes out well-insulated, fatigue-free jaunts across long distance driving.

Additionally, the steering (with audio controls) is relatively precise and with the MIVEC engine teaming up with the INVECS III six-speed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), it makes driving in heavy traffic easier and less stressful.

While the D:5 is prone to body roll around fast corners, tyre grip is decent. And if you decide to press on, the nose will run wide. Moreover, engine noise can be a tad loud during acceleration but once the gigantor is cruising along the highway, it settles down nicely. Nonetheless, the D:5 is composed, and its tall driving position means great visibility.

Conclusion
The Mitsubishi Delica D:5 is certainly functional when it comes to space management and delivery purposes. So if you ever intend to look for a vehicle that can haul eight passengers with ease, you know where to look for one. This is a vehicle that climbs, crawls, and gets you where you need to be - in a safe manner.

Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG Black Saphir INDEN-Design 2010

The INDEN-Design Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG Black Saphir body kit has a value of 19.900 euro for additional 3,500 euros you can get a hood, for 800 euros the tail diffuser in carbon and for 999 euros a front Flap of PE in addition. The assembly of the body parts and the various adjustment work is separately calculated with 8,000 euros and the lacquer finish inclusive putty work with 7,500 euros.

Brabus Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Widestar 2011


The new Brabus Widestar wide version represents a custom-tailored designer suit for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. In addition to the extravagant high-tech carbon-fiber body program for the gullwing the tuner also offers ultralight forged wheels, an electronically adjustable Ride Control smooth-ride suspension, a titanium high-performance exhaust system with electronically controlled sound management and custom Brabus interiors.

To give the SLS an even more muscular appearance the Brabus designers have developed custom-tailored Brabus Widestar components for the rear axle. Like all other body components they are made from extremely light yet very strong carbon fibers identical to the ones used in Formula 1 racing. The add-on parts for the rear fenders and the rear fascia create an even more spectacular look and make room for special wheels that widen the rear track by 20 millimeters for even further improved driving dynamics.

The suspension engineers developed custom-tailored versions of the ultralight Brabus Monoblock F Platinum Edition forged wheels in sizes 9.5Jx20 in front and 11Jx21 on the rear axle for the wide version of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. These wheels are available with a brushed-design or ceramics-polished surface and can also be painted in any desired color. The staggered wheels with 20- and 21-inch diameters on front and rear axles further emphasize the wedge-shaped look of the sports car.

Despite the wheels’ bigger size they deliver a weight reduction of up to 12 percent compared to the SLS production wheels. The reduced unsprung weight further results in even more agile handling. Brabus technology partners Pirelli and Yokohama supply the optimal high-performance tires in sizes 275/30 ZR 20 and 295/25 ZR 21.

The ride-height lowering by up to 30 millimeters (1.2 inches) also plays an important role in the striking appearance of the Brabus-modified SLS. The Brabus suspension is height-adjustable and was developed in cooperation with technology partner Bilstein. At the push of a button its integrated Ride Control function also offers a smoother ride than the production car. From the cockpit the driver can at any time – even while driving – switch between damper settings that offer a more comfortable or a sportier ride than the production car.

The Brabus high-performance exhaust system with four slanted exhaust tips with diameters of 84 millimeters (3.3 inches) is somewhat atypical for traditional tuning. Its sound management, controlled by the driver and activated by a pneumatic flap, includes a ‘coming home’ setting that is quieter than the production exhaust. In ’sport’ mode the 6.3-liter eight-cylinder engine produces an even more powerful exhaust note than with the production exhaust. The Brabus exhaust system is manufactured from extremely lightweight titanium and weighs 12 kilograms (26 lbs.) or 40 percent less than the production exhaust. Another welcome by-product of this exhaust is an increase in power output by 10 hp / 7.4 kW.

Chevrolet Corvette Z06x Track Car Concept 2011

Chevrolet is unveiling the Corvette Z06x Track Car Concept at this year SEMA motor show. The Z06X track car concept, to be created by Chevrolet teamed with Pratt and Miller, will showcase Chevrolet’s expanding portfolio of performance parts to create a full-on track car.

The Z06X concept is based on the Corvette Z06 with the 1LZ equipment package, along with the Z07 Performance Package and CFZ Carbon Fiber Package. The 2011 Z06 with the Z07 package includes carbon ceramic brakes and Magnetic Ride Control, while the CFZ package offers body components that enhance aerodynamic down force on the race track, including a front splitter.

The concept vehicle wears a low-gloss Icy White Metallic exterior color, accented with exposed carbon fiber body components and red trim. The interior features a racing seat, window net and roll cage-mounted camera system. It includes a racing pedal kit, a Genuine Corvette Accessory.

Performance of the Z06x Track Car Concept is guaranteed by LS7 7.0L V-8 engine and Tremec six-speed manual transmission, with low-restriction air intake system and high-capacity radiator and enhanced cooling system. The Z06X uses lightweight racing wheels in black; 19-inch (front) and 20-inch (rear), paired with Michelin racing tires.

BMW 5-Series GT by AC Schnitzer Debuts in Geneva

AC Schnitzer has unveiled their tuning program for the BMW 5-Series GT at the Geneva Motor Show. In an effort to make the 'wagden' (half wagon, half sedan) look more appealing, Schnitzer added front and rear spoilers, a ventilated hood, aggressive side skirts, a redesigned rear fascia, chrome exhaust tips, and new wheels (available in a number of different styles, in sizes ranging from 19- to 22-inches). Inside, the company installed aluminum pedals, velour footmats, and a new cover for the i-Drive controller.

On the performance side, the engine in the 530d has been tuned to produce 286 HP (213 kW / 289 PS) - an increase of 41 HP (31 kW / 42 PS). Schnitzer also added a twin rear silencer and a specially tuned sports suspension.



Installing a Nitrous Oxide System (NOS)

Installing a NOS kit is a simple process of installing the nitrous tank; a few injectors (which are also called nozzles); and a few solenoids; routing a few meters of tubing (or piping) from the nitrous tank and a fuel line to the solenoids, and the solenoids to the injectors; and then fitting a few switches to arm the electrical circuit that energizes the solenoids. If you are installing a Dry System, you don't need to run a pipe from your fuel line to the fuel solenoid as you don't need to install a fuel solenoid but you will need to modify your EFI system to provide the correct amount of fuel when you engage your NOS system.

In my experience, the best way to install the nitrous system is to install the nitrous tank first, followed by the injectors and the solenoids, then connect your feed lines, and connect your solenoids to the battery. This will ensure that each of its elements correctly placed to operate at their full potential. If you are installing a Wet System, you must test the system and ensure that the fuel pressure to your fuel solenoid is constant and adequate. This may require that you install a high pressure fuel pump and/or a fuel regulator.

Begin by installing the NOS tank. The correct installation of the tank is important to getting the most out of your nitrous system. As we've mentioned in our basic nitrous system guide, the NOS tank has a siphon tube that extends from the release valve to the bottom of the tank. The siphon tube reaches the side of the tank on the opposite side of the label. Therefore the tank should be installed at a 15° angle, with the label facing up and the release valve facing the front of the vehicle. This will ensure that more of the liquid N2O is used before the siphon tube begins to pick up gaseous Nitrous Oxide, even under acceleration.

Another consideration is the pressure of the NOS tank. The pressure of the NOS tank will fluctuate as the ambient temperature fluctuates. This can cause problems with the correct calibration of your air/fuel mixture. To overcome this problem, you should ensure that the NOS tank is mounted away from heat sources (such as the exhaust system) and out of direct sunlight. You can also use a NOS blanket to insulate the tank.

You should install the injectors next. The placement of the injectors will depend on whether you're installing a system with a single injector, or a Direct Port System that requires one injector per cylinder. When you need just one injector, you should install the injector as close to the throttle body as possible. If you have a rubber inlet hose connected to your throttle body, you must drill a suitably sized hole to fit the injector, and bolt the injector down with a nut and washer on either side of the hose. If you have a cast aluminum manifold, you must drill a hole and tap a thread into the cast aluminum for the injector to screw into. If you are fitting a Direct Port System, make sure that everything that must be fitted to the intake manifold is in place and find enough space on the manifold to fit the injectors. The injectors must be fitted at the same distance from the cylinder head but try not to fit the injectors too close to the cylinder head. Also, wherever you fit the injectors, apply a little locktight to the thread to ensure that the injector does not work itself loose. If you are installing a Direct Port System, you would need to install a distribution block between the solenoids and the injectors. The purpose of the distribution block is to distribute the fuel and nitrous between the injectors. Although it is not crucial, try to install the distribution block so that the tubes are more or less horizontal. The injectors for a Wet System has two inlets — one for fuel and the other for nitrous. You must connect the right tube to each inlet as indicated on the injector.

The next step is to install the solenoids. These should be installed away from the exhaust manifold but as close to the nitrous injectors as possible. The solenoids must also be installed slightly higher than the injectors to ensure that the nitrous and fuel do not need to flow upward as this will reduce the effectiveness of the system. The solenoids are electrically operated; therefore you'll need to run a few electrical cables to the solenoids.

Once you have your hardware in place, you can install the nitrous and fuel supply lines. It is best to route the tubing that carries the nitrous to the engine bay along the stock fuel line as this would be routed securely, and away from heat sources. The tubing should be secured to the vehicle so that it cannot be damaged by abrasion or by moving suspension and drive train parts. You can use nylon tie-wraps to secure the tubing to the vehicle but ½ inch Tinnerman clamps work much better. The tie-wraps or clamps should be placed no further than 18 inches apart. Whenever you route the tube trough a metal body panel, be user to use suitably sized rubber grommets to prevent the body work from cutting through the tube.

If you are using nylon tubing, you can use a sharp utility knife to cut the tube to the correct length leaving about 2 inches of free play at either end for possible flexing. Never cut the tubing too short and never cut the tube using a scissors or wire snips as this will deform the tube and make fitting the olive and nut quite difficult. Once you have cut the tube to the correct length, slide the nut over the tube with the treaded part facing the end of the tube. Never tighten the nut too much as this will cause the olive to compress the tube and will restrict flow through the tube. Then slide the olive over the tube. Secure the nut to the outlet on the NOS tank while keeping the tube in place and repeat the process at the other end where you must secure the nut to the inlet on the nitrous solenoid. The tube from the solenoid to the injector will require the same treatment. You can install the tube from the fuel solenoid to the injector as well but don't secure the tubing to the fittings on injector just yet — you will need to perform a few tests first. Also beware, the injector for a Wet System has two inlets — one for fuel and the other for nitrous. You must connect the right tube to each inlet as indicated on the injector. Next, tap into your fuel line using a metal T or Y splitter and fit the tubing that will supply fuel to the fuel solenoid and connect it to the inlet on the fuel solenoid.

The final step is to install the electrical circuit that will power the solenoids. The NOS solenoid must lift the plunger against the pressure that can be upwards of 800 psi in the system. A fair amount of current (amps) is required to accomplish this task so make sure that the electrical cables can supply the required amperage to lift the plunger. The electrical circuit should supply both solenoids with power and should incorporate a fuse, a microswitch fitted to the accelerator linkage, an arming switch and a relay. Start by disconnecting the negative terminal from the battery. This will prevent you from causing short circuits while working on the electrical system. Run a live wire from the positive terminal of the battery to the fuse box under the dashboard and on to a relay. Another live wire can then be run from the relay to the relay to the solenoids. This wire must carry sufficient current to activate both solenoids. You can fit the arming switch on the live wire between the relay and the solenoids as this wire will run close to the dashboard area; however it is better to place the switches on the earth wire. The earth wire will run from the solenoids to a suitable metal point on the vehicle's body but it is best to run the earth wire to the negative terminal on the battery. You can fit the microswitch to the earth wire as the solenoids would be placed close to the accelerator linkage.

Alpina Will Enter Modified BMW 6 Series in FIA GT3 Racing

BUCHLOE, Germany — Alpina, a specialist in tuner BMWs, is making a return to racing after a 20-year absence with a car based on the BMW 6 Series. The public will be able to see that car, the B6 GT3, at the Geneva Auto Show next month.


The Alpina factory team will enter the FIA GT3 racing series with its B6 GT3, derived from the BMW 6 Series. The B6 GT3 is also inspired by Alpina's B6 S road car that makes 523 horsepower and 535 pound-feet of torque from a supercharged 4.4-liter V8. That B6 S is capable of accelerating to 60 mph in less than 3.9 seconds and can hit a top speed of 177 mph.

In addition to putting up a factory team, Alpina will sell B6 GT3s to individuals and teams looking to compete in the series.

BMW 7 Series LUMMA Design 2010 - 9FE99AU34JYB

The unique aerodynamics package from LUMMA Design comes with selected applications made from genuine carbon and 22 inch light alloy wheels ensure that the BMW 7 Series with its noble finish exhibits independence while staying true to its sportiness. The fact that LUMMA Design has a sense of BMW’s design language already becomes apparent in the front spoiler bumper. Subaru Impreza WRX STI 2011

The new Subaru Impreza WRX STI offered in two body styles (5-door and 4-door). In addition to the new styling, the 2011 WRX STI features significantly revised suspension tuning and lighter 18-inch wheels for even sharper handling. The Subaru Impreza WRX STI has been a recipient of continuous improvement since its introduction. Most recently, the 2010 WRX STI Special Edition previewed some of the suspension enhancements now migrated to the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI.

In front, the 2011 WRX STI models feature sharpened bumper corners and wider, blacked-out fog lamp nacelles to accentuate the “wide and low” profile. A jutting lip spoiler with three-dimensional detailing emphasizes the cars’ sporty intent. The newly designed front grille with black base and blacked-out Subaru wing highlights the headlights’ shape to give the entire front end a more powerful appearance, accentuated by larger grille and bumper intake openings.

New standard 18-inch aluminum wheels feature high-luster paint and weigh 17.6 lbs. less than the previous standard wheels. The optional 18 x 8.5-in. BBS® forged aluminum-alloy wheels, which further reduce unsprung vehicle weight, are highlighted by silver high-luster paint for 2011.

Exclusive to the Subaru Impreza WRX STI, the Brembo Performance Brake System uses ventilated 4-wheel Super Sport anti-lock (ABS) disc brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD). Super Sport ABS can control the braking forces at each rear wheel independently, which optimizes braking ability during hard cornering to help reduce understeer.

The 2011 WRX STI continues as the ultimate-performance Subaru with its high-boost 305-hp turbocharged/intercooled 4-cyl. Boxer engine and 6-speed manual transmission. The STI also features Multi-Mode Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD) version of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with three “Auto” modes, as well as a manual mode with six driver-selectable differential locking settings.

New for 2011, the WRX STI interior is finished in black and silver to highlight its sporty design. Trim panels, the steering wheel air bag cover and steering wheel switches are now dark cast metallic. The 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI models arrive in Subaru dealerships in late summer 2010.
